Get Growing

Add value to your home with these easy summer gardening tips.

1.

So mulch to do

Mulch covers your soil, protecting it from the sun’s rays and keeping it cool. Spreading mulch helps reduce moisture evaporation so your plants are nourished all summer long.

2.

Weed it & reap

The earlier you get rid of weeds, the better! Not only do they steal moisture and nutrients from your plants, weeds encourage pests and diseases to move in.

3.

In full bloom

Add color easily with summer bulbs like calla lilies, canna lilies, and dahlias. Research summer-loving annuals in your area and your garden will soon be bursting with color.

4.

No garden? No problem!

If a lack of space (or green thumb) is a restriction, golden pothos, philodendron and Boston fern are great low-maintenance indoor options. Place them in bright, indirect light and water when the soil is dry to the touch.
